Using Parliament for political effect

About This Course

Parliament is fiercely competitive. With 650 MPs and over 3000 staff, you’ve got to out-perform the rest to achieve real political impact in Westminster.

This course will focus on:

  • Selecting and then pursuing political priorities
  • Strategies to maximise opportunities for impact in Parliament
  • Seizing opportunities for impact outside the Westminster village
  • Smarter ways to provide political research and briefings

The course is perfectly suited to those wanting to learn how to be an effective Parliamentary Assistant or for those wanting to develop further their existing skills and knowledge so as to leave their mark on politics.

This is not your regular ‘death by PowerPoint’ training course. You’ll learn-by-doing, getting individual coaching with practical tips from former senior parliamentary aides and SpAds, so you’ll return to your job better at supporting your MP in Westminster.

This course has been designed to complement our Communicating for political impact course. Together they provide the ideal suite of knowledge and skills to excel in your role supporting your MP.
